Connect offer a range of accessible musculoskeletal and rehabilitation services in a variety of convenient locations including GP surgeries, clinics and health centres. Our community-based models focus on prevention and effective rehabilitation for over 15 Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), including this one in South West Essex.
About the role –
Connect are now looking for well-organised and conscientious Rehabilitation Therapist who will provide treatment of patients for rehabilitation and exercise prescription under delegation from a healthcare professional.
You will deliver, teach and monitor individual exercise programmes where delegated by a healthcare professional. You will use your knowledge of medical MSK diagnosis healing times and identify when expected recovery or outcome of rehabilitation is not being attained in relation to a patient under exercise prescription.
You will re-assess, progress and establish exercise care plans inclusive of the use of the following clinical modalities – Exercise therapy, Massage therapy, Strapping/taping skills and Hot/cold therapies.
You will contribute and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders. At all times striving to reflect and encourage core value behaviours, along with meeting all requirements for maintenance of professional development as outlined by regulator CHNC and Society of Sports Therapy.
Who we’re looking for –
You will be positive, constructive and approachable, along with holding a BSc in Sports Therapy by CHNNC approved course or successfully have completed an appropriate accreditation training course in Health and Social Care, – e.g. HNC in Occupational Therapy Support or above, NVQ Level III or equivalent or have proven relevant experience as a Therapies Technical Instructor at NHS Band 3 or above.
Ideally you will have proven experience of working as a rehabilitation service provider and have proven face to face communication skills to enable you to communicate effectively with both patients and colleagues alike using a variety of mediums.
You will be positive, constructive and approachable and carry out tasks with fairness and integrity at all times, along with being well organised, conscientious and capable of working collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Team.
The majority of clinical diaries and patient notes are administered electronically and as such you will have good IT skills and be willing to embrace innovation and technological advances that improve service delivery.
