Global Health and Dr Mike Landry

Make sure you are signed up to PP+ and make the most of our excellent Global Health for Physiotherapists course. It’s your opportunity to have a greater impact and influence on health around the world.

Global health is commonly thought to be about global social injustice, health equity and health disparity. But as Dr Mike Landry explains it is about so much more.

Dr Landry has over 20 years of experience working as a physiotherapist in areas of sudden onset disasters including war torn areas such as Yugoslavia and Sarajevo. Alongside his role at Duke University he is a WHO consultant so he really is the person to help you understand the importance of physiotherapy around the world.

Global health really isn’t just about distribution of wealth or social policy. At its bottom line it is about saving lives.

More about Dr Landry; Duke University profile, most recent publication and twitter.

My interest in health and fitness started at a young age. Even though I had been educated and trained as an engineer in Europe I always want to follow my passion. I have made some guest appearances on a health educational program TV in Europe and, this experience, has made me follow my passion of sharing wellness information with others.
